My fingers laced between hers and I held her close to me with my other arm.

Jayson: Meema, you’re amazing…

Meema: Jayson, you’re the sweetest guy I’ve ever met…

Jayson: Because, Meema, you’re worth it. You’re the most wonderful girl I’ve ever met, and baby, the first moment I laid eyes on you, I knew we were meant to be.

Meema: Jayson, you don’t know how much that means to me…

And then I was awake…

Jayson: Meema!

Jayson was breathing heavily and he looked around his room slowly. The blue wallpaper wasn’t there, it had been replaced by rotting old wood. The expensive blue bed was gone as well, replaced by his old four-poster. And the beautiful angel in his arms was also gone…

Jayson sighed sadly, hanging his head and slowly slipping out of bed. He sat at the side of his bed, wishing everything would come back. He glanced at the other side of the room, where the other two beds were already made up for their occupants. Elijah lay, sound asleep, on the covers of his bed, and the bed with the bright purple covers was still empty. Jayson frowned, wondering how many of the girls were there yet. He secretly hoped that Olivia wasn’t coming back, but she obviously would. Elijah’s sister, meanwhile, had probably arrived with him.

He lay back down, not wanting to disturb his friend, and stared at the dark wooden ceiling of the dorm. It was more of a cabin, a cozy little building for the boys – it included a kitchen that Olivia had paid for and an entertainment space for them, as well as their beds and dressers. The girls had one that matched, but theirs was decorated nicely, with pink wallpaper and colour-matching things belonging to each of them. With his sister, Tiffany, gone from the school, someone new would be moving into the girls’ dorm cabin. Maybe it would be someone more fun and attractive than Olivia, and he could have an excuse to leave her. Of course, that wouldn’t work too well for her, and she would probably make his life hell for leaving her. But whatever. At least he had the beautiful girl of his dreams, Meema.
